I wanted to congratulate all the applicants that got in the last class, so now I'm starting this thread for the next class. How many applicants are in the process and where are you at ? Good luck to all.

I think it will take nearly 2 months to complete all the testing.

That's okay too - the longer to go - the more time to save $$ for the drop in pay :?

I have handed in my application for PC about a week and a half ago. I have a job referal, studied Italian in Italy, work as a Canadian Forces reservist, security and volunteer in a hospital where I live in Milton. I hope this is enough to get me hired. I have no post-secondary that is the only thing I am missing. Any tips from anyone??

You should look at yourself and ask if you would hire yourself. Think about it that was and then see what you can do to make yourself more competitive than you are already. Not having post secondary won't be a total deal breaker as long as you bring something else to the table. If you are still worried about your lack of schooling take some distance ed courses and kick start a degree.

I handed in my application this past Wednesday (January 14, 2009). I know that TPS is sending 160 to OPC for April. Am I too late for the April intake? I know it takes a while to complete the interview, BGI, psych and so on. So am I looking at September 2009?
TPS Application Process:
Application Submitted: Jan. 14, 2009
Interview: Jan. 30, 2009
MMPI: Feb. 5, 2009
BGI Started: Mar. 19, 2009
Psychological Interview: Mar. 25, 2009
Home Visit: Mar. 23, 2009
Medical: April 4, 2009
Offer: March 26, 2009

Yeah if they are short decent numbers they can manage to do it quick...depends on how many they have to put through :)

I'd worry about getting an interview first! The process for TPS is different for everyone, so you'll just have to sit tight and wait for a call.

LOL, it was the interview I was worried about. I've heard of applicants waiting a number of months before they were called for an interview.

You're definitely right about that. I know some people who were called the same day, while others waited for months. Guess it depends on their needs and what you have to offer (among other things).

Just finished my Psych test a couple of days ago. That was a weird and long a$$ test. I was totally brain dead and zombie eyed afterwords! I'm also hoping to get into the April class this year. Anyhow I just wanted to say "hello" to everyone as I am a newly registered member now, although I have visited the forums for info time to time. Good Luck to all in the process........
