Suspenders issue - looking for ideas

Postby fjacky » Fri Nov 13, 2020 4:28 pm

Been wearing duty belt suspenders for quite some time, but I find that when I start my shift and have them in place, after an hour or so the slides creep down and basically aren't helping anymore...just wondering if anyone has a quick hack to keep them in place.

thx

Simplest way: Put the sliders exactly where you want them, get some tape, hockey stick tape or the clear plastic tape for hockey socks usually works well, wrap the tape around the strap immediately below the sliders to prevent them from backing off of the spot you want them to be. Added bonus being that you can always cheaply remove it and make adjustments later, and then lock it back down in the new position if required.

Permanent way: adjust them to exactly where you want them, take them to a shoe repair place and have them run a bar-tack stitch across the two layers of webbing right below the sliders.

Alternatively, get a wider, padded belt and ditch the suspenders altogether.
Don't call it a comeback...

Safety pin on the strap behind the slider.
