Trial by Jury vs Judge Alone
I do not post often in the open forum, let alone about the law and Courts, but I just read the "Back of the Book" in this month's BL - it seems to have been written by a young man, just starting out in life, full of vim, vigour, and idealism (hey, Morley, howze it goin', anyways?!)
MAYBE we keep juries, but have full-time employed professionals, such as lawyers, that are empanelled and travel around to different Trial locations.
Just a thought - not as coherent as Mrs LYMBURNER's hired-man's, but no-cost.
