The Truth About Counterfeiting

Postby Mark Reesor » Thu Feb 16, 2017 12:02 am

The rapid growth of illegal activity in counterfeiting is resulting in expanded involvement by organized crime and terrorists to not only obtain financing for their illicit operations, but also to launder money received from many of their activities.

At the Blue Line Expo & Conference, scheduled for May 2 at The International Centre in Mississauga, Ont., world renowned counterfeit expert Lorne Lipkus will share his insights on the increase in counterfeit activity in Canada.

Learn about the extent of the problem, the type of products now being counterfeited, recent anti-counterfeiting activities in Canada and worldwide and what law enforcement and related agencies are doing worldwide in the global marketplace.

Lipkus is a founding partner at Kestenberg Siegal Lipkus LLP, practising IP litigation with a focus on anti-counterfeiting enforcement, civilly and criminally, throughout Canada. He deals with all aspects of border enforcement, conducts anti-counterfeiting training sessions, conferences, workshops and lectures across Canada, and is widely quoted by numerous media outlets on anti counterfeiting matters. He chairs committees at The Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network and CIPC, and is a member of several national and international organizations dealing with anti-counterfeiting.
