I will leave you to ask your questions at the virtual event as it sounds like you’re already in the application process.awolfisland wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 1:05 pmUnfortunately, I have deleted that specific email.Ont. I have two questions:
1) Does the Veterans Hiring Act actually apply as such to the RCMP? Or RCMP is in the same bracket as CSIS?
2) For Canadian citizens living abroad, which recruiting office becomes their default Point Of Contact ?
I have already asked the official rcmp recruiting office, however I've received a generic response from them with no concrete information.
Virtual career presentations seem to be specific to local residents (Sask for example), haven't had a chance to register/find one yet.
I am just curios, thank you!
The good news is that I am registered for a mandatory virtual career presentation during which I will have an opportunity to ask lots of questions about citizens living abroad (couldn't find much info online).
As for Veteran's hiring act - it is an amendment to Public Service Hiring act, 2003, and I believe does not apply to RCMP act, 1985.

To those who frequent the "ASK AN ONTARIO RCMP RECRUITER" board:
I am choosing to transfer to another division to go back to GD policing. As such, my days monitoring this thread are done.
Please join me in welcoming Cst. McCarthy who will be taking over this task.
All the very best. Work hard. Be honest and patient with the process. It's worth the effort.

Hello,
Is there any more information about the new PFA?
I received an email from the recruiting team detailing what it entails, but it only states “for time.” The last assessment states it has to be completed within 90 seconds.
Any information would be appreciated!

Hello all,
Just over 7 years ago I posted on this very thread to the original Blue Line Ontario RCMP Recruiter, Sgt. Michelle Welsh (Now S/Sgt.) as an applicant. You can see my suggestion as Haya19 just three days after this topic opened.
Suffice to say, this forum meant a lot to me in 2015/2016 when I was an RCMP applicant and I got a lot out of it. I hope to be here for those of you now with questions about the application process and beyond.
Please feel free to reach out to me at anytime and join me in thanking Cst. Holdway for lending his time and energy to these Forums for the last 2 years.

-The suggestion is for Task 1 to be able to complete a 500m run in less than 2:30 as a minimum starting point.
-Be able to comfortably run for 30 minutes without stopping.
-Aim for a minimum of 5 km in 30 minutes.
That being said, we are running a PFA workshop which will display the assessment on August 28th. See if Ryan will cover your shift if you're able to make the drive to Concord. Registration can be found here: https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/even/en/e/9207

I registered, Ryan won't cover the shift but luckily I have time to book off.
See you in Vaughan!

I missed the last Ottawa posting for 24 spots. Is there another coming in the new year?

It is the hope that we will continue to offer these postings. Please keep in mind how competitive this process is and how small the pool of successful applicants will be. I don't want to discourage you by any means but I would like you to know we're hiring 4000 police officers over the next three years in the regular applicant stream.
