The people who are completing the online portion right now, are you paid for your time? Also are you free to complete the course material any time of the day or does it interrupt a regular working schedule. Are you able to maintain a job around this training?

And just like that, 1 year to the day after my Security approval, I get my first communication from CBSA. I have to do/renew my PARE before May 31st. I guess things are rolling again for me?
All these PARE notifications seems to be sent to people that never did PARE so far in this process ?

I’m pretty sure Bilingual is French and English. I talking about an announced hiring process.A big one.
If you ask me, all BSOs should be bilingual as Canada officially is bilingual.

So the "big" hiring process is this one now, the other (EN only) is the "limited" one .
Well I say “big” because I believe more people apply through the English and they receive more applicants. I think CBSA prefers people who speak a second language or more other then French since you deal with a wide variety of cultures IMO. I’m bilingual in a sense I speak a second language but not French lol.

Yeah this time around I wanted to wait as long as possible to do the PARE in order to downplay the risk of expiry/renewal. And then Covid hit.

I did mine last March when Covid started and it’s being extended . I had to fly in an other province to find a place to do it .
Have you look for a private session ? Some places can offer 1 on 1 . It’s probably more expensive but totally worth it if it’s the only step missing in your application.

First time posting. I have been in the process since June 2018 and only have PARE and medical left. I just got the email my PARE results must be received May 31st. Gyms are closed in Quebec and I am recovering from a back injury.... Any workouts to get my cardio up quickly so I can pass before May 31st.

Terrified I will not have enough time in 6 weeks to be ready for PARE and would be devastated if this knocks me out of the process.

I will write to see if I can be granted an extension but just in case, please bombard me with fitness plans that can help me go from 0 cardio to passing PARE in 6 weeks.

Thank you/ Merci!
There is a lot of good videos on YouTube that can help you practice all the components .
I suggest cardio , push-ups and burpees . Assuming you are a women , PARE can be a little more challenging for us sometimes when we are smaller . Having a good cardio helps to have more time for the push-pull machine as well . I personally needed to practice jumping the mat to avoid losing time at the end ( I am only 5’5) .

Some testing facilities offer practice rounds and help you with your technique .

Hey everybody, I am in selection process 18-BSF-EA-NBSO-FB-007 and I had my interview on March 4th 2020. I was given my results on June 23rd 2020 and I passed every competencies that were tested. They said they would message me when they are ready for the next stage of the hiring process, but I have yet to hear a word from them. Is the hiring process/training completely shut down due to Covid? Just wondering if there’s any chance I could hear back soon! Thanks!

I got emails last few days outlining my having to redo a bunch of steps in the process due to them having expired. The cycle begins again. Happy? No. Surprised? No. But such is the circle of life. Was really hoping to be moving on this year but hey, maybe 2022 will be the year.

So in closing, your marks mean nothing, having priority means nothing, its all luck of the draw. Stay positive everyone, your day will hopefully come.
