I failed my interview the first time around as well.

This is my 2nd attempt and I technically only have the second language test to go. (Will have to retake psych at some point)

Only difference for my 2nd time was that I wasn't as stressed out. I became a local union president between attempts so I had a decent plan B, which I took this spring as a provincial representative for 30 000 members.

Don't place CBSA as a plan A. Take all other opportunities you get in the meantime. You never know when you might fail a step in the process.

If it works, it works.

It doesn't sound like you have a real plan B at this time. My advice is to start working to find a real Plan B, while you are in the CBSA process.
And if the CBSA application works out fine, even better.
I have a plan B which is my current job but it isn’t nearly as exciting as becoming a BSO. I have great conditions but it’s still not my dream job so I think it is fair to say that even if I have a plan B it’s still not the same.
As it stands, you are far (many steps away) from the BSO plan to be plan A. I meant to find a real plan B will be a good idea, a plan B you are excited about. Not like the plan C you are working in now.
Good luck !
Thanks for the words of encouragement, it’s really helping and has everything to do with what I asked. I am aware that my goal is far, but when you really know what you want to do, it’s hard to find something that is as exciting. BSO is still my plan A no matter what because this is what I want to do and it’s not going to change because you’re trying to discourage me.

That’s encouraging to hear! :)
That’s how I see it too. Right now I have a very stable job that I could keep for the rest of my work days if I want to. I have nothing to complain about, except it’s not my dream job. BSO is what I want do to, so I’m just trying to put all the chances on my side. But like you said, if it works, it works.

I'm thinking that the next invitations should be going out I'm mid October for the online portion in December. Then those people will be off to Rigaud in Jan. I'm hoping to be on that selection. How many others have completed the process and are just waiting for an invite?

I haven't gotten any updates from them in regards to my PARE so I'm guessing it's still good to go

Hi all, my psych is set to expire in September. I have received an email for my consent to submit form again. So round two here I come. I know we can't divulge any real details, I'm curious as to those who have renewed their psych testing, was the person to person interview similar to the first time? With out giving anything away of course.

Thanks, and here's hoping 2022 gets some of us on board!

Don't sweat over this. For some was the exact same interviewer, for others was different. I guess it depends of the current contract and availability in the area. For some the testing administrator for the first part (the written one) was different.

Overall, the Psych test is the same as first time. So just do what you did first time - be yourself - and you should pass ;)

Good luck !

It varies, check forum history, many have shared their timelines.
It is from 2 months and up till over a year since sending all required documents as far as I observed.

About 5 months for me between sending the forms and receiving the secret clearance. 14 days between interview and clearance.

No 2 candidates will have the same time as there are so much variables to consider.
