Woe Is Me...

I don't understand your post but okay then

Ok i will agree that the sit and reach, although part of fitness (core components of fitness), is a test that a lot of people will not score well on however the remaining tests are pretty straight forward and getting a top score on the rest should not be that hard. The PIN tests key areas like strength and stamina and although not always needed may definitely be useful at times. Whatever way you look at it you are going to have to do the test at sometime either now or after OPC so why be prepared now so that when you go to OPC you make it easier on yourself!

Fair enough, I will agree with you that the PIN is generally a good test for strength and stamina, I was just stating that the PREP although not a difficult fitness test does have its place.

The CK trend is to hire locals or experienced only.
Only when they went thru amalgamation did they bring on "outsiders".
Physical test is OK - but as typical with small organization, it is probably a who you know versus what you know hiring process.

I'd say don't read too far into what a lot of people say on here... There are many people with great insight and experience on this board. However there are a lot of opinions, which of course are welcome, but may not alway's be completely accurate. Don't be discouraged to apply somewhere you wish to apply because of some of the things you read. You know yourself better than anyone on this board knows you and if you wish to apply to a particular place, and you have the requirements, go for it. That is of course, just my opinion.

lol when my time comes, I'll be tossing in to CK no problem, I'm just curious as to his experience and why he states that.

Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. Your normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop-heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow"

Their history dictates locals.
The last 4 hired were from the City and 2 experienced were from the City also.
THe previous hiring before that was also 4 from the City.

They work similar to Hamilton - why take external people when there are hundreds of locals qualified who know the area and will stay.

Not saying dont apply, just saying it is a tough slope to climb.

Anybody recently apply to CK police? Deadline for most recent recruitment ending December 31/16? Physical testing was conducted at the end of January but I've yet to hear any sort of correspondence either positive or negative since then. Just wondering if anyone else has any idea about the process.
