I believe this could be the case if
1) you have other police services chasing you
2) York made you pull your applications with other services with the intention to hire you with the condition you pass the stages listed.

I personally made it to Psych, but did not receive a conditional offer as I would not pull my other applications.
Interesting , I only ask this because this was the case with me . I’m still awestruck that this has happened. I’m just trying to understand the reasoning. Nevertheless I still have all those stages to go through. I have my psych tomorrow.

I would also just want to thank everyone here for sharing their experiences.
You're saying you received you're conditional offer before finishing those stages? That's awesome! I'd think it's because York might be losing recruits to other services as many other services don't do as much testing.

I wish you luck through the rest of the process!
Yes, sir, I might consider that a factor but I'm sure it's not only that. They didn't explicitly ask me to pull any of my other apps

Sounds great. You received an offer from York? First time I'm hearing this lol. Good luck with you!
I have received the offer. Thank you. It would make sense that they have done some investigating about me before making that offer. they gave it on the same day as the interview!

I'm very impressed. You should be very proud. I'm a little hesitant to believe it cause its protocol to go through the stages. When did you submit your application and when did you get the offer?

I applied back in December and I had my interview about a week ago where I received the offer. I still don't believe it. From the application to offer, it was about 2.5 months.

I'm still in disbelief. I hope everything else goes well aha.

Sounds very good timing - not being full of myself - I have all the adequate traits volunteering, customer service as from my current career also hearing visions etc. still waiting for a reply since handing my application from January - called recruiting yesterday Sergeant mentioned she will look into my case however doesn't seem promising I will be sending an email to my recruiter once more before I decide what is the next step

I am waiting to hear back from dropping off my app in the first week of Feb.

I have volunteering (including about 5 years with a police-based Victim Service Unit), life/work experience, a BA (graduation with distinction), and good fitness. What I think we all have to remember is that the process is highly competitive. Looking around at the caliber of applicants doesn’t really make me feel any more secure after I’ve applied. There is always room to improve and there will always be applicants that are more competitive. There are so many people applying that have the qualifications (and more) that we have.

Best of luck to all of you. Keep us updated!

Agree. Lots of good people with excellent credentials have applied. Its extremely difficult to break through. I applied in January and haven't heard back as well.

Best of luck to you as well!

Hi everyone

I have few questions and was wondering if anyone can answer them.

What kind of test is Written Aptitude test?
Do all applicants do it?
Does the PREP consist of both shuttle and pursuit run?

Thank you

General question to anyone that may know

Once you pass the ECI with one service in Ontario are you still required to do an ECI with a different service that you may have applied to?

Example ... Pass with York would you be required to do another in Toronto if you apply there ?

Thx
