another issue is retaining these same people while they are still FXT, and then rolling them over, it should not happen, they are on contract;
I'm no labour lawyer. I don't play one on TV, but... I'll float the notion that it's likely VERY difficult to just "not renew" a FXT contract.... It's a contract in name only.

If an individual is consistently working full time hours for years and is able to contribute to the pension etc... I think effectively dismissing them without cause isn't goin to go well for the employer when they get sued. Just my uneducated opinion.
That said... The FXT scheme/model is about as f'd up as a football bat... There is in practical terms no difference between full time classified CO's and their FXT colleagues.
At one time there used to be a "red line" which meant there had to be a minimum number of classified CO's on duty at any given time. That rule doesn't exist these days.
FXT's used to be barred from certain duties/responsibilities... In my inst. there is ONE post FXT are not allowed to work... ONE.
Day to day you can't really tell who's FXT and who's classified by looking at them.
Admit nothing.
Deny everything.
Make counter accusations...

90% of the shift at my institution is run by FXT except for stat holidays, if that says anything.

Anyone have any idea or speculation on when the cut off date is for offers before the next class?

Congrats. It looks like it can take anywhere from 1 to 3 months on average based on the timelines I've observed in this thread thus far.

I completed my NEO in mid December. I reached out to the Ministry a few weeks ago and was informed the process could take up to 12 months and I would have been notified if I wasn’t in the selection process. Basically no news is good news as others have posted.

Seems like it comes down to institutional needs, with larger centres requiring more staff and a higher turnover. Institutions in Toronto will have more spots to be filled over Hamilton or Niagara for COTA.

Yea I had completed my VSC around 5 weeks ago and contacted recruiting and they said it would take roughly 4-16 weeks for them to process and from there it comes down to the institutions needs. But from what I’ve heard is that they are sending 1-2 off to COTA for most jails. My top three were Niagara, Hamilton and Lindsay.

Anyone know the timeframe you have to complete the REACT assessment?

I had received my invite on March 22nd, but I am having some scheduling issues right now.

Just don't want to miss a "deadline".
It only took a month after application to get the wonderlic done?

Wonderlic online.
REACT is online.

Apparently even the first segment of training is online as some of the above posts say.
