Hi Everyone,

I am pretty much in the same boat but i have been waiting a little longer, I did my psych interview on April 20th but it has been radio silence since then. The only thing that i can say is "no news is good news".

I'm assuming if the psych did not go well i would be deferred by now (Please correct me folks if i'm wrong) so fingers crossed and hope everybody makes it for 23-02 or 03 class

Cheers!

I am currently in the application process with TPS.
I completed my psychological assessment on May 13 and interview on May 17.

How long does it take to hear back the results usually?
Is everyone in the same boat?

I am not sure whether my psychological interview outcome. Hopefully it went well and move to background stage.
If you go back a bit on the thread some of us recently waited 6 weeks or 2 months or so around December which seemed to be the norm for either getting a deferral or going on to background stage.
I recently got the call that I was accepted for August and now just waiting for PREP test and medical. From finishing psych exam to finishing background took awhile for me compared to the first half.

Yup same boat here. So far my process looks like this..

Toronto Police Service/23:
Applied: 04-11
Shuttle Run: 04-27
ECI/LFI: 05-04
PBQ/LFI: 05-06
Psych: 05-08

Hearing background is backed up. People who have already got offers probably started much sooner. Hopefully in for august. If not we will be early for the next class :)

I’ve received a few messages asking how soon I was notified after various stages and I’d like to answer it for more to see.

Waiting is a part of the hiring process. There are hundreds of applicants per class and it takes time to vet each one. If the BGI comes across something that raises a question they may take a bit longer to figure it out (or they may contact you) but either way it takes a moment. Some of you may hear back from BG within a few days and other may hear back in 8+ weeks. It’s the same with Psych. The Dr. will not tell you their evaluation but you will hear back from BG regarding it. The length of time it takes isn’t indicative of how competitive you are. It just takes time.

The BGI also has to put your file together and have it presented. I know I would want them to take as much time as needed to make my file look as good as possible.

I completely understand the anxious feeling while waiting but do some push ups and go for a run. You WILL hear back.

To piggyback on this, the reason why you’ll never know your psych results is because all the doctor is doing is making notes on your interaction with them. The doctor will then present talent acquisition with the information gathered from their interaction with you and talent acquisition decides how they want to go forward.

Hey everyone. I had my interview with my BGI about 5 weeks ago and tried to call and email to see if I could get an update but no response. I know this is a very busy time for them but was wondering if this is also not a good sign for me. I reached out to careers last week and no response from them either.

It's probably not a good sign. I've been notified about my file last week, approved, and taking the PREP test next week. Try calling your assigned BGI once more during work hours. Good luck!

Ya but I know of applicants that got the approval call way before yours and have already done the PREP last week so there will still be approvals and PREP tests after yours.

What I find weird is that during my BGI interview, he had already done his reference checks and my background/police checks. He had nothing but good things to say about everything on my file. I should just stay patient but I've tried to call him once last week and sent en email and I've had no response. He was very quick with his responses earlier but I'm not sure whether hes just super busy or something happened.

That's true. Stay patient and let us know how it went.

Also, if my BGI and Careers aren't answering my email, is there someone else I can reach out to about the status of my app?
