I majored in Justice and minored in Correctional Studies, would it be a disadvantage or frowned upon if I brought my correctional textbook from college with me? Just to brush up on policy, theory, etc?

Hello,

I’ve got invited for CTP3 in PEI starting September. I just had a question. Is it possible to drive down to the training centre instead of flying? Because I rent and then eventually will have to end the rental house and I don’t have a vacant parking spot to leave my car and then fly to PEI. So, is it possible to drive down to PEI and park the car at the training institute.

Any answers or advise is helpful.
Several recruits have driven to PEI over the years. Contact your recruiting department immediately to make arrangements.

Hi,

I am an applicant waiting on CTP 2/3 email to be sent to me as I am already done with all other steps.

From what I have heard. I may end up being offered a posting in Kent. What is the overtime situation is like at Kent? And as a whole what is the Overtime situation like in Pacific Region as a whole? Is it plentiful and/or "unlimited" as the rumors say it is? I only ask as I want to make an informed decision and have more information on what I am signing up for once my offer letter shows up!

Any information would be highly appreciated!

Thank you!
If you haven't received your email with the Conditional Letter of Offer how do you know you might end up at Kent ?
You also might end up being offered a post in Edmonton, Springhill, Collins Bay or Stony Mountain.

I just received my email that states that I will be flying out to PEI Sept 7th. One quick question in regards to the rooms. Do they all have an Iron and Ironing board ? Would it be better if I just took an Iron ? Thanks

Present CSC Staff...

This is not an applicant question but just using this to get the attention of the lurkers here who are already Officers. Yes, I'm crashing your forum thread. :pistols:

I've put up a question in the CO private forum I'd really like to hear back from CSC officers about.

Forum has not been too active so came here, just in case you are not watching there.

Now, the rest of you please continue with your applicant stuff and good luck.

Does anyone have any insights into Colin’s Bay ? I deferred my last CTP and am heading to Kingston for CTP3 in September. Heading to CB afterwards. Just wondering about shifts, housing in the area, OT, general morale, etc. If anyone else is going to Kingston for the September class, feel free to DM me.
I'm also interested in more information regarding Collins Bay / Millhaven. I'm still early in the process, just finished my medical.

Thanks,

Depends which CTP you're on, and whether you're in the houses or the hotel.

The houses all have irons and ironing boards in them. There is a common laundry area in the hotel with available irons and ironing boards. Not recommended to bring one with you, that's just a lot of extra dead weight in your luggage. But I like that you're anticipating ironing your uniforms. Good start!

Hi, what do we expect with regards to physical fitness? Are you able to share your CTP3 experience here? Should we expect to do lots of cardio everyday (i.e. 30 minutes run / stairs)? I am heading to PEI on the 12th of September. Thank you.

It would be utterly pointless to bring and I couldn't see how it would be beneficial. All resources will be provided to you at CTP3.

And when you arrive at your institution you'll learn how the job actually is.

Hello everyone! I applied many years ago and i received almost a years later an email to continue my application. And i was afraid of losing my time so i gave up.

How hard is the training? Ive being working security for years. But i was never good in school. Tried college and failed. Am not afraid of the physical part but mostly of exam.

Thank you.

It’s more than I thought that’s for sure. But it’s going well, you?
