Any news ? I haven’t heard back yet
Truer words have never been spoken (re: line above about 'stressing out').
We are currently telling people that the application process takes between 7-12 months to complete. I have spoken to one applicant who made it through in 6 months. Others have been longer, and some cases even past the 12 months mark. Patience is key. Being thorough and totally honest is key. Getting everything in on time when asked, without errors or omissions. Oh, and did I mention patience? You're still in the process until you get an email saying that you've been removed from the process. So, live your life and don't dwell on things beyond your control.

It was the initial vision test, the one that you submit early on.Steelsingh wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 12:22 pmJust curious, but when you applied 2.5 years ago did you not pass the initial vision test? Or was it during the medical evaluation (stage 7 now)?Prairieplp wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 7:56 amFor sure, no problem.figure_eight wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 11:30 am
Hey Prairieplp would you be able to say what dates you completed all of your steps leading up to now? I applied in February 2023 and have only completed the online assessment and cleared RMAQ paperwork so I'm shocked your already at your psychiatric eval. My recruiter is telling me that I still need to go through suitability department for RFI, then go over RMAQ again, and then do PSS before getting to phyc. I'm really wondering if others are in the same boat as me but if your ahead and applied a month after me then I might try to reach out to someone.
Applied 03/2023
RMAQ 04/2023
RFI 05/2023 (Recieved the results within 90 min via email)
Psych test 06/2023
Psych interview 06/2023
I applied to the RCMP about 2.5 years ago but was deferred due to my vision not meeting the standard. I wrote the test before the deferral so it wasn't required during this application.

All you can do is to wait-out the deferral period.Dukenasirew wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 1:36 pmHello All,

Who knows? By the time your RCMP deferral is over, you may already have been accepted by the OPP.

Just worried abou the age because after my federal is done I’ll be in my late 30s and I don’t know how the RCMP looks at the older age applicants

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
People get hired in their 40’s. Use the deferral time to improve and make yourself a better candidate, then submit again as soon as you’re eligible and rock it the next time. It’s worth it. Getting deferred doesn’t have to mean the end and it doesn’t mean you’ll be a worse cop if/when you succeed later.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Question,
What are the options for me going to depot financially while having a family at home, wife and 2 little ones.
We have a mortgage various other bills/groceries that I pay a portion of that my partner would not be able to afford while I’m away for training.
What would be the best scenario for me to do?

Add at least 2 years to your deferral period to determine your age for your POSSIBLE start date for DEPOT.Dukenasirew wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 9:17 amJust worried abou the age because after my federal is done I’ll be in my late 30s and I don’t know how the RCMP looks at the older age applicantsPete Broccolo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 8:06 amAll you can do is to wait-out the deferral period.Dukenasirew wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 1:36 pmHello All,

Who knows? By the time your RCMP deferral is over, you may already have been accepted by the OPP.
Add 20 to 35 years to that date, for your minimum 25% to maximum 70% pension (subject to changes), to figure out how young you will still be.
Factor in transfers, the possibility of RCMP going the way of AIRBORNE given all the crap going on, and the overall shining glory of dealing with drunk naked people, then think LONG AND HARD whether brass buttons and a bison-head-on-a-salad-platter tattoo on your arse cheek is STILL worth going for.
If so, re-apply.
If not, move on.

Anywhere between next week to several months from now, with the possibility of being deferred for whatever for whatever period, or outright banned.tarunpatel wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 1:25 pmHey guys I just got a email yesterday after submitting all my documents that I will be going to the next step.
