That is absolutely insane. I hope you get the good news soon. If you don't mind sharing - have you any idea what may be the cause of your significant wait?

From my short time on this forum, it seems like ON applicants take longer to obtain their security clearance. Drawing any statical conclusion from the RCMP application often leads to me just getting a headache and then moving on with my day. it's a cold world out there and no one owes you any answers. So I guess all you can do is bet on yourself; you just need to get lucky once. :)

Exactly, could be a million things, I don’t spend time trying to make sense of it anymore, but the wait time has led to some incredible opportunities that have allowed me to just continue learning. I did have my security clearance interview a few weeks ago, so that was encouraging.

Also need to remember that there's only a couple dozen active applicants on here, roughly 1000+ people go to Depot a year. This forum is not a very good representative of what goes on.

I would agree. Been waiting since June 2019.

That's true. Small sample size to draw any conclusions from. Majority of the people on this forum usually have a longer application time so it seems this data can be heavily skewed. But man I am pulling for all the ON applicants waiting on their security clearance. Hope they all get it soon.

Honestly sometimes I forget I’m even in the process. I mean the monthly check in email catches me every month but I have not heard anything since I was medically cleared end of November. Patiently waiting for my time.

That's the best attitude to have.
You've done everything you can to get your application to where it is, the rest is out of your control.
It's a frustrating application process for sure but depot will also be frustrating at times and your policing career will be too.
Focus on the things that you can control, don't get upset about the things you can't.

Is it still possible to become a police officer if I had Covid-19 in the past but I did not require any sort of hospitalization and have fully recovered.
This is like asking if you can still become a police officer if you've had strep throat or mono in the past.

The answer is yes.

FYI, kidlets of whatever age: note that a certain username, pre-spanked by the ever-effervescent VS, no longer has access. Said poster is personna non grata, but their stupidity is now one of VS' wall trophies, kinda like the stormtroopers' helmets on pikes in The Mandalorian.

Anyways, do not be stupid; you may want to write it on the inside sweat band of your forage cap if you make it into ANY PS or LEA, let alone the Force, as a mantra to serve by.

No high-5'ing, congratulations, quoting, referencing, or otherwise mentioning of this post of mine, UNLESS you are an Admin, Mod, known Recruiter, or herder-of-Cadets-paperwork (aka DepotWeb).

I ran out of wall space a long time ago, now I keep all my spoils of war here, stored safely with my 1998 Reach For The Top Championship trophy and all the beanie babies I’m holding on to until they appreciate in value sufficiently enough that they will fund my early retirement.
