Oh they did change it. I thought if anything they would have been valid for 5 years similar to other federal jobs.

Did anyone recently write their psych? I completed MMPI followed by the interview a week later (both virtual) back in October. It's been just over a month and still haven't heard anything.. just wondering if anyone in the same boat? Do results usually take this long?
I did my psych in October, got results two weeks later and they sent my my clearance paperwork a week after! I don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason for the difference in timelines
If you don't mind me asking did you do your psych virtually or in person?

I thought I had submitted a confirmation for my Phone interview... apparently I did not. You are welcome

Guess i'll wait another year :dropjaw:. Feel downright awful right now

2023 is the retake of your Psych test ;)

Jokes aside, I really hope your process in 2022 takes a faster pace and you get an invite in 2022 !

End of the road for me.

Failed my psychological retake. Same answers as my first test, same psychologist.

Good luck to applicants. And don't try to make sense of the process.

The RCMP is hiring. www.rcmpcareers.ca

12-15 months for the application process. It's then 26 weeks for the training program.

Truth to be told, for the CBSA recruits that are left waiting for years with no fault of their own, it really is a bad impression of the organization even before the start.
But I guess that's what you get with fluid priority lists, where at any time someone is bumped by someone with higher priority, even people from other selection processes.
CBSA should announce this on their hiring fairs : "If you are not in any priority group, you may wait multiple years to get an invite"

Most of the federal government operates in a similar manner, their pools are usually quite lengthy.

I don’t want to stir the pot but there are definitely ways to get yourself into a priority group. If you don’t fit the criteria for one of the equity groups, get more education (FSL/more education). Education also opens the opportunity for SBSO positions alongside additional careers.

I get being bitter but they mention 2 years as being the average, of course COVID and being lower down a priority list may not help, but all federal agencies have priority lists, which means at some point you’ll be behind someone if you don’t tick the boxes. Doesn’t mean it will be as long but eh, there are ways to lessen the chances of missing out.

As JDube said above - don't try to make sense of the CBSA selection process ...

It's not about getting bitter, it's being real. Good for the people that self declared as something that gives priority. The ones that wait for years and being removed from the process failing Psych on a retake will have different opinion of the process.
