Dog Service Corrections

Postby ODIN » Fri Jun 13, 2014 3:04 pm

Detector Dog Service-K9 unit with the Correctional Service Canada. Currently the agencies program is only 13 years old and using in excess of 100 teams across the country. from what I have seen its the second largest K9 unit in the country after the RCMP.

Manitoba had two for sure but is down to one. Various rumours about replacing the retired one or not. I think the brain trust downtown is weighing the cost comparison between bringing in RCMP or CSC dogs when needed to pick up the slack and having two full time handlers on staff.
