Got my package in the mail along with my hand grips. Has anybody else gotten confirmation yet?
Question Jolly,

Is it a Conditional Letter like in CSC that shows where you're going to be posted? Or is it one of those things you find out in Depot?

Anyone know where to buy pocket less sweat pants?
If you're going to Kingston, they'll supply the sweat pants. The guys at PEI sewed the pockets shut. They just don't want a hand getting in the pocket during self defense, excellent way to break a bone.

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

What is a day like at training academy? What time you wake up, what do you get offered as food, what time does the class end and do you get time off in the evening like for gym etc? Wake up whenever you want but 3 classes start in Kingston Your times below are for when you sit down and eat. They al...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Has anyone received an invitation for CTP 2/3 for Feb or Mar? I'll be starting CTP 3 Feb 5th. I got in to Warkworth Institution. Congrats! We toured Warkworth in our core. It's really neatly laid out. We also saw the new SHU area. Just walking around with the inmates. It honestly looks like a small...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

do not take any type of firearms training prior to going on ctp. CSC has a specific course of fire, specific IA's and stoppages and the instructors don't have time to undo habits you learned from "training" you took before hand. If you've never fired a rifle or handgun and want to get that out of t...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Does anyone know if CSC has followed pretty consistently how soon your start date is following CTP3, or is it differing depending on institution? Also, during ctp do they ever grant time off (a couple of days tops) or are they very strict about everyone being there for 100% of the training time? Th...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

If you're in BC, silvercore training offers a law enforcement firearm familiarization course designed for people about to go to their respective training areas. Other provinces probably have compatible courses. No license is required and it seems like it would be a good investment for those who hav...

Re: Fisheries Officer (DFO)

Are there any serving officers I can ask some questions regarding requirements? I sent an email to DFO as per the link on the DFO website to ask questions. I'm assuming due to holidays, I'm not getting a response.
Anyone can PM me, I'd be greatly appreciative!

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Received an invitation to attend CTP 3 in PEI starting Jan. 21st for Primary Worker position. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten their conditional offer yet and if you will be attending CTP. Also, anyone who has gone to PEI for training- what are the accommodations like? I attended CTP in Reg...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

So I wrapped up the application process today with my psych interview. Completed ctp1, medicals, finger prints and security questionnaire. Now it's in cscs hands to determine if I'm a suitable candidate. One question, is ctp2 only offered to those who have passed all of the steps up to that point? ...

From the time I submitted it in the mail to the time they contacted me was 3 weeks. When did you submit your questionnaire?
A week by snail mail.

That's a big 'oof'.
Never send anything by snail mail :P

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

That is an important video to watch. They showed it to us in CTP 3. It's imperative everyone who is thinking about CSC to watch this and especially those who are in the process.

How did/are people finding stage 1? It’s a lot of hours and I’m wondering how detailed my notes should be for the exam?

Thanks
It's not timed.. Just don't close the window and do not idle for 60 minutes. ;)
