Re: Ask a Sheriff

MPI, your experience as a "private investigator" will not give you an advantage over other candidates for our specialized units.

We have a great deal of backgrounds at the sheriffs from former police, correctional officers and others from unrelated backgrounds.

Re: 5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants

gotta ask,

How do you guys get away with rocking the 511 stryke pants?

I was checking them out the other day and they are blatantly tac pants. From the fabric to the pockets, they just stand out.

Re: Minimum requirments question *Any recruiters here*

Look at some information on how to get the equivalency for your secondary school diploma.

Who cares if you are in a program and don't have the posted admission requirements, everyone knows that colleges will waive certain requirements (example would be mature student status).

Flatten biltmore brim

Hey there,

Does anyone have a good method for flattening the brim on a Biltmore hat? (hat issued to Alberta Sheriffs).

Thanks!

Re: **Alberta Correctional Services - HIRING**

I used to be at ERC, was just curious because of what you said about OT.

The government is trying to completely kill the OT at ERC, pretty soon its going to be zero there.

Re: VPD - Jail Guard

It all depends really. I have worked with people in two departments that have zero life experience and still made it into the process. Who cares, just apply and see what happens.

Re: Young Offenders

Who cares, just apply and see what happens. Honestly, until getting a job in this field I used to stress so badly about applications and whether this or that may get me gonged, its that stress that makes you nuts. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Don't even act ashamed, just acknowledge that it happ...

Re: **Alberta Correctional Services - HIRING**

If the orientation is still on, then go to it. The job offer is signed at orientation. There is not much thought that can go into it... we are on a hiring freeze. How long will it last? who knows (we don't, HR doesnt, training CPO III doesnt, anything you hear is prolly just speculation). what does ...
