Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

You guys ever try emailing or calling to see what’s going on? I emailed recruitment in another province and told them how long I’d been waiting (7 months at that time). I was emailed my clearance the next day I haven't spoken to any recruiters other than my own. All she said was management is curre...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Not that I'm applying to the RCMP but I saw thatas of May 15th if you're an Ontario applicant it will cost you $250 to apply?? I see this as a huge deterrent to an organization that's already low in applicants. Good for you. Yes it is. I appreciate the support. https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/police-...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I am a past recruit who failed on firearms (accuracy) during my first time at CTP. I am in the current pool of applicant for the open competition, ready to try again ! Does anyone have any advice for me going forward? Trying to get range practice during covid is very tough, and getting shooting les...

Trial by Jury vs Judge Alone

I do not post often in the open forum, let alone about the law and Courts, but I just read the "Back of the Book" in this month's BL - it seems to have been written by a young man, just starting out in life, full of vim, vigour, and idealism (hey, Morley, howze it goin', anyways?!) MAYBE we keep jur...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I was wondering if I can be transferred early if i am recently married and my spouse lives in a different city? It would be impossible for him to move due to his work but I am not releaseable from my detachment yet. Thus you have answered your own post. Shafting & Impersonal is the ONLY one that ca...

Re: Application & History of Depression

Go for counselling / treatment, definitely, but I HIGHLY caution ANYONE that has depresssion, to whatever degree, to do so FIRST for themselves, their family, and those around them, and only SECONDARILY, if at all / ever, with an eye towards working as a member of a Police, Fire, or EMS, Agency, whe...

Re: Cricket Canada

I can't imagine Cricket being played in Canada, given that it is not played on ice. https://cricketcanada.org/news-single?nid=150 OK, give me a minute and I'll grab my coat on the way out. Ridley College in St Catharines ON had teams in early 1970s when I attended another High School, because a cla...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

FYI, kidlets of whatever age: note that a certain username, pre-spanked by the ever-effervescent VS, no longer has access. Said poster is personna non grata, but their stupidity is now one of VS' wall trophies, kinda like the stormtroopers' helmets on pikes in The Mandalorian. Anyways, do not be stu...
