Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Regarding being a small (i.e.: Weyburn or Estevan) Municipal PS or RCMP General Duty Detachment guard (since I have NO clue about SQ, OPP...or much of anything), especially in the Prairies: it is not steady work, and oddball hours. It is not bad work, just boring and paper work, but VERY necessary. ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Hopefulls, applicant, Cadets, and those with saddle sores already, are welcome to share their EXPERIENCE going through the application and training process (WITHOUT revealing matters you have been TOLD are to NOT be discussed - like the quality of the pudding in the mess!), but stating, "Aww, no wor...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Just because your not a member yet, doesn't mean you cant pitch in some other way an gain valuable experience. Heck you might end up changing...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I would also advocate for hopefuls to consider applying to be Division Operational Communication Centre Operators - they are PSE / PSAC, but, apparently, there are certain DOCC that are running short-handed. LOTS of stress, NO sidearms, FAR from the front, ABSOLUTELY necessary part of the team, but ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Wow... Depot was a very different place back then lol. The fact that they trusted cadets with firearms and live ammo to do patrols is kind of neat. Its a far cry from the Depot of today, where Cadets can't even be bothered to make their beds. We were busted from blues to runners in weeks 17 and 18 ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

getting a 0730 talking too for not. I'm imagining a grizzled old drill sergeant measuring a beard with a ruler and tape measurer just like the Sheriffs and Community Peace Officer do to pickup truck's fenders, wheel gaps, and mud flaps. Haha sounds like someone got chopped for mud flaps? LA is easy...

Does anyone know the rule about facial hair while at depot? I’m finding conflicting answers online.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

i wanna know whether nepotism allowed or common in government agency Your question was VERY specific to CBSA, so it SOUNDS like you have an "issue", but NOW you are generalizing it once you are questioned on it. One could say, is nepotism common in other lines of employment: health care, auto sales...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Hey all, I applied in the past and was given a 6 month deferral right after writing the test. There is nothing that I know if that would give me a deferral but I am going to reapply. Do you think this is testing to see if I truly want this as a career and my desire to reapply? No. Your reply is sho...
