For anyone wondering this is the vision requirements.
I’m not sure why but not even RCMP or OPP need 20/25 in each eye. Which is weird to me as they are the ones with firearms.

Vision-DistanceAcuity(BestCorrected):
a. A visual acuity of not less than 20/25 (6/7.5) with both eyes open AND not less than 20/30 (6/9) with the better seeing eye alone.
b. Near acuity, 40 centimeters, (Best Corrected): A visual acuity of not less than 20/25 (6/7.5) with both eyes open AND not less than 20/25 (6/7.5) with each eye alone.
I am not 💯 but from some quick reading it seems 20/25 is slightly worse than 20/20. In Ontario from my reading you can't have worse than 20/50 to legally drive in Canada lol

Hello, I have completed all the necessary stages in the recruitment process and I know that employment isn’t guaranteed but I was wondering how the hours were at Ontario Correctional Institute (Brampton) and Toronto South.

Any guidance is appreciated, thanks.

I'll bet OCI isn't going to reopen at all... 'Hope I'm wrong, but... They've been looking for an excuse to shut that place down for YEARS and now with everyone moved out... How convenient.

Update: as some of us are currently in the online training portion

It's kind of a given but for anyone wondering, it's about 6 hours a day, lots of materials to read over and memorize, verbal discussions, and testing each week

Np and yes it’s between 8-4pm , so far not later than 4pm but they did mention at the beginning that we should be available any time between 8-5pm

For the members waiting on an offer I suggest getting your W.S.I.B. Approved Emergency First Aid, C.P.R, A.E.D. This will be needed after you receive the offer and will be needed to move forward, will save you sometime in the future.

Good Luck any questions feel free to DM me

Just some small conversation. Out of curiosity, anyone know the reasoning provincial corrections has never been able to carry firearms unlike federally(which they can) Was it abused back in the day or just never seen the need for it I wonder?

The right to wear short-sleeved shirts?

I always thought they could wear short-sleeved shirts. Guess I am wrong.
