Talk to the union lolNBrewer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 6:41 pmGood evening everyone,
I currently received a Troop offer one week ago for February. It has been and extremely long road to get at this stage and has taken a tremendous amount of time, work and effort. Which I am very proud to have accomplished so far.
Now for a question that I'm hoping someone has and answer to. My wife has a legally court ordered child custody agreement with her ex husband involving my two step sons. I supplied the agreement to my analyst when it was requested. To my understanding all along they would acknowledge a legally court ordered custody agreement. I live in J Division and I know that our province is considered Bilingual. I was told today that I could not be posted to J Division because I myself am not bilingual and J division doesn't accept any cadets from Depot unless bilingual. Does anyone on here know if that is legitimate?
Thank you for your time
But, common sense would say policy cannot trump law.
Your court order is law.

As far as your posting situation goes - its safe to say you should have a plan for the worst case which includes not getting posted back to your home province and whatever that entails regarding your family situation. It has been made pretty clear throughout the process that you agree to serve anywhere in Canada and nobody is guaranteed anything. It seems like you are going into this assuming you are already guaranteed a spot back in J. Who knows, your case may be different... I'd say Recruiting/Staffing would probably give you the best answer. It may be worth your while to speak to a lawyer about your wife's options regarding movement, since it may come down to that.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Hey everyone hope all is good. I had a quick question regarding the self-isolation at Depot.
When I got my troop offer in September (anticipated to start January 18th) I was informed in that email that I would be required to self-isolate there 2 weeks prior to my start date. I just inquired with my recruiter about my potential departure and he said that I won't be self-isolating at Depot and arriving on the Wednesday before my start date.
So is self-isolation at Depot still a thing?

Yes it is but instead of doing a 2 weeks self isolation prior to your 26 weeks, the 2 weeks isolation will be part of the training program.Mike07P wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 1:08 pmHey everyone hope all is good. I had a quick question regarding the self-isolation at Depot.

They take over $32 million / year off our paychecks... we didn't have that before.

I would have hoped this should have been done WAY before an offer was given.
