Can anyone share when in the process for TPS references are required?
Usually when you go to background. So after you pass the meeting with the head shrinker.
Thank you
This is unrelated to my previous question but I was wondering if you or other members of this forum know about ECI. I noticed from reading posts here that if applicant fails ECI the applicant can't have another ECI with any police service that does ECI for 3 months if this was first attempt. I checked web pages of different services and few that I checked dont even have ECI listed under the application process. As an example....
  • London Police Service doesnt list ECI
  • Hamilton Police Service doesnt list ECI on Hamilton City Job board
  • Toronto Police Services lists blended interview but not ECI
  • Peel Police Services lists Local Foccus Assesment as one of the interviews but not ECI
Does above mean that these services dont do ECI or ECI might be part of interviews described above?

Thanks

Hello everyone,
I currently have my application in with TPS. I passed the ECI/LFI. I haven't received a call for the written and psychology portion. But the question is can anyone give me insight on the Written portion and what it entails??

Hi there,

I applied on Jan 9th and is now Jan 20th. I am just curious as to how long some of you guys took to get emailed for the first interview?
You first need to submit your application package. Did you get to that stage yet?

What do you mean by that? I applied online by uploading my cover and resume. It didn’t tell me anything about submitting a package. I was told by a recent recruit to apply online and they will email you for an interview and to bring your OACP and documents for that interview. Did I miss something?

I'm pretty sure they're gonna make you fill out an application package in a follow up email. Maybe Toronto has their own way of doing things.

Anyways, good luck nonetheless!

What Toronto will do is invite you to a PBQ and that’s where you will fill out all your info, then afterwards they will contact you either rejecting you or they are going to email you a package which has references, school transcripts and jobs you need to bring to a blended LFI and ECI, if they move you forward there is a written and psychological portion

Thank you for this information!
Should I be worried about not even making it to PBQ? My cover was well written (included all core vales/skill set they are looking for with personal examples etc) and my resume has my 4 yr degree in econ/finance, 2.5+yrs working in finance as a manager/trainer, 5+ years owning my own automotive business and 7+ mnths of food bank volunteering etc. I can't see why I wouldnt at least make PBQ?

Just be patient! Make it go to the back of your head! It took almost two months for Toronto to invite me to the PBQ

Can anyone that has attended a TPS info session recently, outline the new process with the removal of ATS? (Ie what physical testing will occur pre OPC and any added steps) I have been wanting to attend the info session however I have been unable to due to work commitments. Thanks

To my knowledge, the CSS remains the same for TPS. Applicants are still required to present a COR.

Has anyone been unsuccessful at the ECI / LFI Interview stage and received the email stating you can write a reactivation letter after 3 months. Has any one done it and how long did it take to receive a response?

Yes I got an email the first time I tried. I received an email after about 3 weeks with a new interview date. I sent my letter during the Christmas period so that could be the long wait.

Cheers.
