Hello everyone,

Just found this website on the weekend when I was searching for answers to my questions on the hiring process. There is a wealth of information here and I hope I can contribute with my experience on the application process.

I will be submitting my OPP application today after 1.5 months of getting everything in order. I just went to an information session in Toronto and that was pretty much the last step before submission.

Congrats to everyone who's in the process of being hired, and good luck to those in the same position as me.

Cheers!
Henry
Good Luck Henry! 😊

I guess whoever applied in early January but missed the may class is just playing the waiting game for the September class, now that our process is done.

sorry you missed it, but hang in there... competition for spots is pretty tight... the class will start on Friday this week and then the next class will be in late August.

Don't give up. I got many of those. If you're persistent and keep improving your resume, you'll crack the egg eventually.

Trying to be my competitive best and finding the OPP fit pin a little daunting at the moment. Just gotta keep putting in the work.

What happens if someone doesn't pass the fit pin when they arrive to OPA? Are they sent home immediately or given the chance to improve to retake the test? I'm hoping it never comes to that but I'd like to know the consequences.

Cheers.

Keep your head up!

What was the last stage you completed before you got the letter?

Yes they send you home upon failure. You won’t get hired before demonstrating your ability to pass the pin via your logs. If you then fail, it’s considered a integrity issue. Even when they offer you the job it’s upon condition of passing the pin test.

I’d say make sure you can pass the pin before you apply, and then continue improving your score throughout the process to show you’re not just settling for the 75.

Good luck!

Hi there,
I only received a file number prior to that. So it's a very first stage.

Thanks
