Nah i was told i was unsuccessful because they didn't hire any CPO 1's for that competition, they only hired a handful of CPO 2s which i would have got if i had applied. I was also informed they still wanted me really bad, but there was some red tape between the AG of Alberta and AG of BC regarding my JIBC courses.

Guess i'll be trying again!
They are hiring for CPO 1. Saw the posting a few mins ago

Best of luck to you.

Seems like there are lots of postins all over Alberta each year. Is it due to people leaving or not enough applicants?

I'm looking at applying next year. Not ready to make the move yet

I went for a ride along and the officer I was with said GP got about 200 applicants last year for their CPO 1 competition. Management then narrowed it down to about 6 candidates.

I was informed that I was their number 1 applicant actually but they decided to hire internally, and not externally hire any CPO 1's. I was also told that if I had applied to CPO II comp I would have had it. I'm already in a law enforcement capacity, and not willing to jump ship for a CPO II gig.

Nothing against the job, but I'm going with the Go-big or Go-home approach. I'm comfy where I am, and I've also got another opportunity I'm sitting at the security clearance phase at.
