Hey, I’m also curious because I'm also a YYZ applicant but haven’t heard back about my security clearance. Although all my other results came back really quick.
In my personal experience, security clearance took the longest. It may have been due to the fact that my security clearance interview was right before the holidays. But even then, it still took an entire month.

Hey, the thing is my security clearance was in January 12 and it’s almost 13 weeks so it’s been a while 😬.

Hey guys, YYZ applicant here. Got my offer letter and my uniform already. But i did see that they updated the student pay for May 2019. On my letter it still stated that ill have $X amount per hour. But i checked the updated one and its significantly higher. Do you guys think they will change my pay rate? Or will i just be stuck on whatever they gave me on my offer letter? Thank you!
Did you sign the LOO already?
I have signed it but they needed me to re-send my forms and whatnot again because they wanted more forms to be submitted lol

Did my security clearance around November and got it by December. They did told me that once its sent to Ottawa, CBSA has no more control over it. Basically its just all OT’s hands by now.

Hi everyone!

Was just curious if anyone has received a letter of offer for Hamilton, YHM?

Hi Rookie,

I am curious to know as well. Received an offer for training last month and then they said they had to come up with a new training date. Still waiting for that email. You?

I received 2 emails asking about 2 different start dates for training but this emails also stated it should not be construed as a letter of offer and that was about 1 month ago.

Just got an invite to training today! Does anyone know if the 5 week training will be paid at a different rate or if its paid at all? Also, how can I prepare myself to be ready for the physical demands of the training ? I would consider myself in shape but I would love any pointers that may help me out. Best of luck to everyone else still waiting!

I forgot to mention that they stated I won't receive a formal offer until the day my training begins. Is this normal?

Congrats! What region? Afaik training is paid at the same rate as your working rate. I know the PARE focuses on cardio/muscular endurance so exercising it that type of way would probably be beneficial for the student position.

I heard this was the case from someone who was a CBSA student clerk a few years ago. Did they atleast tell you a wage yet?

M position will be located in the GTA region! Thanks for the tip on being prepared for the physical demands of the first few weeks and my question about training pay. In regards to my letter of offer, no they didn't mention what I would be getting paid, this is one of the details that I would like to know and was hoping I didn't have to wait until training commenced. Nonetheless, I am very excited to be invited out for training and hoping all goes well.
