AT LAST!!! After a year of waiting (5 months delayed due to traveling and other issues througout my application) I finally received an invitation to do CTP2/3 starting June 11. Hopefully I get to connect with a few of you that get invited for the same timeline. :D
Got the call too! Training in PEI June 13th.
Fantastic! See you there! I wonder if we'll be in the same group? Not sure why the 2 day difference. Regardless - Congratulations!!!

I received an invite today for CTP 3 in PEI and a confirmation of interest from the Prairie Region. I was wondering if anyone with more experience in the application process would be able to offer some insight on the likelihood of receiving an offer from the Pacific Region if I were to decline the Prairies. Thanks!
Was pacific your 1st option? I only put Pacific and got the interest letter from Kent. Perhaps ask your HR advisor what would happen if you decline before your 1st letter of interest deadline.

this just in on csc's home page:

CSC recruits now receive an allowance
As of April 9, 2019, Correctional Service Canada recruits receive an allowance of $400/week, up to a maximum of $5,600 for 14 weeks, during the third stage of the Correctional Training Program (CTP).

https://www.csc-scc.gc.ca/index-en.shtml

i think rcmp pays 500/week. cbsa pays 500 every 2 weeks.

Could anyone out of the recruits selected for training in pei tell me if it was an email that was sent to solicit your interest in a specific institution and if so how long after the email did you receive your conditional letter of offer? Or does someone from CSC actually call you directly?

That is a massive relief! I didn't want to have to go through my line of credit to pay for things while in CTP3...

Still nothing. I personally think that if it happens, it'll happen after medical. Kinda surprised that they don't do medical, fingerprint, questionnaire all in the same time as it takes a month for each results to come back. I'll keep plugging away at SAR :P
Have fun over there!

Anybody have details on living accomodations in PEI? Hotels? Barracks? Dorms?

Also, is Kingston out for the time being or are they running programs at both concurrently?

Congrats to everyone who received a training offer! Do they send them all out at the same time? I finished up the process but have yet to hear anything after I picked my postings for prairie region mid March.

I might be reading this wrong but it looks like CSC is looking to hire 150ish CX in the next year.

"The variance of 89 full-time equivalents (FTEs) between 2018-19 and 2017-18 is mostly due to 'Addressing the Needs of Vulnerable Offenders' (Budget 2017). The 151 FTE increase between 2019-20 and 2018-19 is largely due to increased planned staffing for correctional officers in order to bring the workforce to its optimal level. Staffing requirements for 'Addressing the Needs of Vulnerable Offenders' (Budget 2017) and ‘Mental Health / Penitentiary Farms’ (Budget 2018) also contribute to this increase. Future year FTEs are expected to increase should Bill C-83 come into force and related measures are implemented."

Whoever has an interview coming up should ask how many officers are needed/required for 2019. How many for what regions as it can be a good way to ensure you choose the right region when prompted too. That way we'll all find out.

When I had my interview back in Oct. 2018, I asked the same question.. They mentioned they need 29; just over 12 for Atlantic Region, 9 for pacific and the rest for central.. but don't quote me on that.

700-ish is also the number that’s been floating around the PAC regarding FTE’s for the whole country. OT in the PAC has been ridiculous and not sustainable. Id like to know who stated the numbers above.
