First time posting... Just curious how people received their troop offers? My husband got an email today from the recruiter asking to call her today to "discuss the application" and she asked for his number and when is best to contact him. (Unfortunately she left the office... Won't be able to reach her until Monday).
Currently only waiting for security clearance...
Just wondering if this is likely the big moment we have been waiting for?! (Troop offer discussion?..) or bad news?.. :S
Most often they'll call you when they are ready to give you an offer, however, most people these days seem to be getting their security clearance and then waiting a few weeks before getting an offer. It could honestly be that there's just a quick question in regards to something - ie: I had a quick phone call in regards to some dates after my PEP and it was nothing to sweat about.
It was his troop offer! The recruiter prefers to give them in person, by having you call her at a convenient time. She sends the confirmation of security clearance and everything after. :) Starts July 8 I believe, and troop 12?.. (Husband blacked out hahah, but the email will say when he gets it).
Congratulations to you both!

Hello all,

How easy or hard is it to rent a vehicle on the weekends? Do the companies come and pick you up, or do you have to find a way to get to them? Is it more of a hassle than it's worth? Any advice is appreciated.

To whichever Troop was in Drill class before noon today, yes, that was me sitting in the bleachers chuckling at you.

The double chicken toss was a nice touch!

Hey everyone,

Psyched to announce I'll be in troop 9, starting June 10th.

It's a bilingual troop, I've been told it was a new thing and that they would no longer have francophone unilingual troops.

I accepted the offer even though I had the required SLE results for an anglophone unilingual troop, because the next anglo troop avalaible would've been in August.

Has anyone had more info on the "bilingual" status of a troop? Are the courses given in english? french? Mix of both?

Thanks!

I don’t have any info but a bilingual troop sounds cool. Being bilingual myself it would be neat to learn all the terms in both English and French, so you know what to say depending on the client. I’d be interested to see if anyone has any further details.

Very easy to rent. Not positive on the cost but my troopmates found it quite reasonable and several rented them regularly.

Yeah I rented one also every weekend. You’ll enjoy the time away from troopmates, enjoy different food, and just get away from depot!

I rented cars almost every weekend when I was there.
Several Agencies at Regina International Airport, so if you HAD TO, you COULD walk - if the roads are not too muddy...or flooded.
