I'm specifically looking for an older version that Peel Region used to use.... I'm mainly looking to use it as a gauge for my fitness over time.
It would have had the sit and reach, chin ups, push ups, sit ups, etc... The only one I can find is on the Toronto police site, and it's got different stuff on it.
Peel's old physical test: (according to a forum post)
- 1.5 mile run
- situps (*this is the "curlups", a form of situps with hands at side)
- curlups (*I believe this should read "chinups" as in pullups)
- body fat test
- 1 rep max test (i.e. benchpress)
- 100 yard sprint
(**as noted above, NOT the PIN test, but a unique PRP test)
Very few people were passing this old test, which highly limited the hiring pool.
Therefore, PRP changed to running their own PREP / SHUTTLE back in 2006/7.
PRP then changed within the same year to using the ATS PREP / SHUTTLE altogether.
Finally, PRP has added the additional requirement for some/all applicants of the OPFA PIN test component into testing in 2015/6.
This PIN test includes:
-Core Endurance Test (plank)
-Forward trunk flexion (flexibility)
-1.5 mile run -OR- Shuttle run (weather dependent)

Some are much harder than ATS/PARE/Peel, some are much easier:
-York University FireFighter test (you'll need a weight vest, dumbells, and sandbags). Harder.
-Canada Forces (sandbags) About the same.
-Dallas SWAT (surprisingly easy... 1.5 mile time is 16:28 compared to Ontario's 9:20 for perfect score) Much easier.
