Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada
I have a question....
On June 6th, I recieved an email congratulating me on completing my Stage 1. In this email it said my results were valid for one year.
I just recieved another email (actually I received two in 5 minutes stating the same thing) saying that the "validity date of the pool has been extended to March 31st, 2013."
Any ideas why the pool validity time would be shortened or did anyone else receive the same email?

I just received the same 2 emails which also shortens my dates as well. Now also valid until March 31st, 2013. I have no idea why though?

I just got the same email. I'm not sure how the dates of your level one completion fit into everything, but when I got my initial email stating that I had been placed in the partially qualified pool, the validity date of the pool was August 31, 2012. They are now extending it to March 2013. I am going to be super optimistic and pretend that I will be enrolled in levels 2 and 3 before March 31,2013- which would be prior to the expiration of my level 1

Oh jeez. I am in the PW process and I never got such email that the pool has been extended. I am getting a little concerned now.

Just wanted to thank everyone on blue line for answering important questions about the hiring process. Tomorrow I graduate from CTP and then I'm off to Edmonton Institution!

LAdies and Gents
Keep in mins CSC is goin through a huuuuuuuuuuge change right now...these extensions MAY simply mean that in the next little while a lot of staff maybe transferring and changing roles and locations etc. CSC is experiencing budget cuts also so theres no point for them to hold another selection process for certain positions, they would rather extend the pool expiry date, since they have fully/partially qualified candidates...in regards to fully/partially qualified candidates I personally sent an email to clarify what that meant when i got put in the pool,,,,and recently i was told i was fully qualified...so feel free to call them...i know some law enforcement agencies haaaaaaaaaaaate to be bothered with questions about the process but with my experience CSC staffing is very pleasant to communicate with.
regards
