Have a good time, whichever you choose. (BBQ, BBQ, BBQ, BBQ, ra, ra, ra)

:aye: It's the summer. Barbecue  OPPAux has the right idea. Don't forget the :drinking: !!

If you don't want to do it, employ a friend or family member to tend the grill. At our family/friend BBQ's it's usually a fight over who gets to do the grilling.

You can ask any guy to tend to the grill, and he'll happily oblige.

Oh, you can't have a backyard party in the summer without a BBQ going. The smell of meat grilling is half the party, the guys hanging around the heat drinking beers....mmmmm BBQ, now I know what I'm having for dinner tonight.

You jerk. Now I'm going to have a preoccupation with barbecuing all day.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow, but after this discussion I'll be firing up the barbecue too.

BBQ all the way. A party just aint a party in the summer without it!

Just think with the catered stuff, the kids will be playing in the dirt and then double dipping in the dip!

P.S. I'm BBQ'ing tonight too!

I did a BBQ for my wive’s birthday in June and simply did most of the cooking ahead of time. I pre cooked the ribs, chicken and burgers (home made) and got all the fixings and salad components ready in the late morning, stuffing it all in the fridge, then is was a simple of warming the meat/chicken on the BBQ and throw’n the salad together. Oh, I did cheat and make the potato salad in the early morning.

Back yard summer parties are meant to include a BBQ....... I think there is some obscure law somewhere about quiring BBQ's at summer gatherings in back yards! :P :drinking:

Caterered Food man look what happens when you put the chevrons on. :P

BBQ all the way and I am sure some guy attending would love to volunteer to cook but make sure you do supply him with lots of beer for marinating. ;)

I'd take the catered food. No lifting a finger, lots of variety, more time to visit.

I'm happy eating packets of ketchup if I get to be around people.

But if I had to choose I'd go catered. Everyone does BBQ.....

Yeah, but you make it so easy.

Everyone does BBQ, potato salad, et al....I bet her hubby would appreciate something different. BBQ is just like any other backyard get-together. Plus, neither would have to be cooking so birthday boy could enjoy time with his lovely wife.

Go catering.
