The bigger the WMD the better. "Kill'em all and let God sort'em out!" I'm not sure but I think that slogan may be going onto our next issue of Alberta licence plates! :P

For striking terror into the hearts of shit-rats everywhere, no weapon says excrutiating death like the flamethrower. If your town has problems with riots or general crowd control, you should consider the water cannon's evil cousin.

I believe it was George Carlin who said, "I want to set that group of people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

I advocate the "leaky bag of poo" tecnique...
Nothing disperses a crowd be it hostile or peacefully assembled than a guy waiving a big leaky paper bag of runny poop all over the place...
I mean really... Who ants to get poop on themselves???

Flamethrowers are cool and all, but I think it was Mega Man....the Nitrous gun that instantly freezes people/objects....now that'd do the trick!

Particularilly with that 6" grouping standard

Now if you want the ultimate in less lethal crowd management do what the Spanish National Police riot squad did, they hooked up a foam inductor on their water cannon truck and attatch a drum of OC to it.
"Politeness spray" ...now in bulk

I'd go farther and bet there are a whole bunch of people out there who are way better shots than the police with anything.... ;)

Uh...I was being sarcastic.

Better than that, just bring out the sweaty, germ infested gym equipment that's laced with herpes and force people to touch it. :jump: (see the Vitality thread to appreciate humour)

Now now the ultimate police weapon (and the safest for the officers in question) has to be the twin-roof mounted 50calibre belt-fed machine guns! The officers barley need to get out of the vehicle, all they need to do is light up the takedowns pop the sunroof and let er' rip! :ak47:

The weapon does not matter... unless you are wearing a lime-green uniform (with a red stripe to denote police/polizei/polenta/etc.) and a white forage cap (or stetson/beret/beanie)... Perhaps driving a european car 2 sizes too small...

It needs to be said that bazooka refers to bubblegum and not any type of shoulder fired weapon that's been in the Canadian arsenal for 50-60 years.

We now have the 84mm Carl Gustav or the M-72 LAW.

The Carl "G" is what most people would equate with the WWII "bazooka" but remember that it is a crew weapon, requiring two people to load and fire it...."Check venturi lock. Venturi lock check!"

Grenades are where it's at...and swords!

If you have a fast motorcycle and a good sword, the little things in life just sort themselves out...that's my philosophy! 8)

I thought M-72s were out of the sysem.

All of you have it backwards, its all about the Mk19 AUTOMATIC GRENADE LAUNCHER (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/mk19.htm). Thats right this spits out 40mm grenades at a rate of 40-60 grenades a minute!! I fired one down in Florida, it rocked. Unfourtunately they are not "officially" (read, only a certain unit near Ottawa has them)in the Canadian Forces.

Actually, they are coming into service. Recce are moving to 8 car troops with the G-Wagon. MY understanding is that a troop will have 4 x C6, 2 x MK19, and 2 x Javelin ATGM. Quite a change from my day when if we were lucky we had 7 jeeps with C5 GPMG's.

The M72 are still in service!
Bruce, maybe in the reserves, we in REG FORCE RECCE use the coyote, in the 5 car config, even though the "book" and the "brains" in Gagetown still teach the 7 car system. Over seas we have 5 car troops with 2 G-wagens, as support cars, we hardly ever took them out as they don't have the firepower or armour to be safe. As for the Mk 19, I have heard we have been getting this system for quite a long time. Its like the MGRS, next year, no wait the year after, I just had a briefing with the CO, and now they are looking at 2010, thats why we are also putting Leo back on the 6A or DP3A, whatever we are calling it today!
I would prefer a car like the German/Dutch Fennick, its an awsome Recce vehicle, with sensors like the coyote, but it still doesn't have good firepower!

As for this thread, I would rather have a grenade launcher , one like the Mk 19 as 48 highr pointed out!
