The internet was hot and heavy with info on the 17M earlier this year but I haven't seen any recent developments lately. I haven't even received any updated armorer documentation on the specific differences (compared to the boatload armorers were sent at the introduction of the Gen4 pistols).

I'm anxious to get my hands on one. I like the flared mag well and haven't handled a non-finger grooved Glock since the 90's!

We could be headed to another Glock boom in LE if all of the departments lining up for these (here in the US) actually follow through with their orders.

If given the chance most will drop their 40sw Glock's for the new 17M platform.

I agree, and I'd be willing to bet that Glock will be offering 17M's at a bargain price (or urging distributors to give generous allowances for trade-ins) to get more into the hands of departments for exposure.

Yupppp! Heard one Ontario PS got their Glock gen 4s with a bunch of mags for low to mid 500 mark.

I won't list on a public forum what my old department paid per pistol...but it was several hundred dollars off of police department pricing. The LE distributor offered a crazy trade-in value for our S/A XD and XDm-40s plus threw in new Safariland 6280 duty holsters for the Gen4 G22s. Glock made it very difficult to turn the offer down. The state I was in was very SIG-heavy as far as law enforcement was concerned and Glock was looking to break into that market share. I think they are getting there...both the State Police and Conservation agencies in 2016 transitioned from P226 DAKs to Gen 4 G17s along with G26s issued as secondary pistols for every uniformed officer (about 1600 or so).

Pretty exciting, a great platform. This just shows the massive shift back to 9mm is happening. My department, a large state agency, is transitioning back to 9mm after a long run of .40 S&W. We are also getting pistol lights issued as well.

Yes, there are several good reasons why we applauded the return to the 9mm in our December 2017 cover story and why the Glock 17M is featured on the cover as our 2018 "person of the year," so to speak.
