The P226 is my favorite 9mm, hands down, however I do like the P2000 or USP and the M&P comes in at 3rd place.

This is the first mention and I was about to post it aswell.

How come noone has mentioned at all the H&K's? Am I missing something?

Pricy but good. Rumours are OPP and MNR might team up and buy HK P30s.

I guess that has always been the problem with supplying our Men and women with quality equipment.

Way I see the top ten would be as follows:

#1-Glock-You could drop it in your swimming pool then fumble it into your kids sandbox and the damn things keep running.
#2-Sig Arms P226 or P228 in what ever trigger configuration-just can't beat the quality and accuracy
#3-Smith and Wesson MP series
#4-CZ series-may be third world but reputation and reliability are solid(may actually deserve to be put in 3rd but will leave in 4th)
#5-Springfield XD9 series
#6-HK series-again, quality guns.
#7-Ruger SR9 series-don't laugh-own one-excellent trigger and outstanding accuracy.
#8-Beretta 92 series-good guns, not bad triggers and just look cool
#9-Steyr 9mm series(don't know much about them but again look cool-supposed to be good)
#10-Hi Point 9mm-justifies everything ahead of it in my list as being superior.

I have never owned a CZ pistol, but I do own a CZ .22 rifle, and I can tell you the quality and accuracy are outstanding, especially when weighed against the low price point. For $452 I bought myself a bolt action .22lr with a 5 round detachable mag that can reliably hit spent .22 casings at 50m, put 5 shots into the same ragged hole that fits under a dime at 50m, and put 9 rounds under the size of a twonie at 100m. Absolutely fantastic accuracy, in my books, and I'm convinced that I could expect the same kind of quality out of their hand guns.

Best "duty pistol" and best pistol are two different things.
Admit nothing.
Deny everything.
Make counter accusations...

Some of them are nearly impossible to find a "duty" type holster for.
Also they have the magazine release on the trigger guard which is not where it would normally be on a "north american" type pistol. Makes transitioning to them a little harder.

I know someone who spoke of willingness to part with their CZ 75 BD Police. They paid 800$ for it and it's still virtually brand new.

Alas, there are too many guns on my "to buy" list and not nearly enough money to buy them. :((
