I know they have higher testing standards than say "mall security" but personally think they're gonna have a lot people show up that couldn't cut it as a cop but want to get their gun. Totally the wrong reason to do that job... which is sad.

I have it on good information that the personnel working the OPG beat won't be "rent-a-cop" types. The individuals from OPG private security are all long-time veterans of ERT/TRU teams, retired from other services.
So, you can rest easy knowing our nuke stations are well-guarded.

I think the thing to consider is most of the real world SWAT and ERT's out there that finished much lower WERE using operational experience.

The tactical edge that DOE and Bruce et al have over municipal, federal and other tac units with a wide area of responsibility (and we're talking city+ size here), is the fact that they are faced with ridiculous variables in each operational concept.

As for DOE and Bruce, they can ONLY be deployed (as I have understood it, please correct me if wrong) at the facility in which they are working at. Therefore, the A.O. is always the same, layout the same, entry/exit points the same. The only difference is operational concept and Modus Operandi.

Does that change the fact that Bruce kicked ass? No.
So based on the same course, one has to question themselves on what was really different that allows Bruce and DOE to consistently kickass each and every year. Is it training, background, workups? Unknown, I just know that as a current civilian, and future LE Officer, I'm glad these are the guys that are keeping the crap that glows green from getting blowed up :D :D :D :D
