While it may be unfair to say that "too many" members would use their pistol as a flashlight, there is always that one...

Nope, I work for a living.

Let's be honest though, if an entire organization were to start using Pistol mounted lights, there would inevitably be one or two that utilize it more in a flashlight roll, and less in a pistol roll. Likely it would be the same one or two that don't carry Batons because "I never need it."

I do not feel that this isue should preclude members from being offered the best equipment available, and advocate all members of all services having the option of having a light mounted on their pistol 24/7. The lights would simply have to come with disclaimers and instructions for the odd person here or there.
