The one main downside is the food isn't quite 3 star at best.
And rum. You forgot to mention the rum

Also cigars...

My gripe about Cuba at this time of year is the weather.
YES, I know that it's much warmer than anywhere in Canada right now....but mid to low 20's is what you're getting with the night time lows down to 10 deg. Pools can get a bit nippy since they are almost never heated.
If you go a bit more south, you get 30+ deg weather and still a comfortable 20 deg in the evenings. With that said, I'm the type of person who loves hot weather.
We have had a great time in Punta Cana(da) the last few years. Sandy white beaches, turquoise water and friendly people.

Tickets from Vancouver to Thailand right now are $796 return.
Beautiful country, beautiful people.
Don't be worried about the polical BS. Country is totally safe as long as you don't start protesting and fighting the government yourself.

Antigua is a wonderful place to go. Great beaches, great diving, good food, and to top it all off, on our trip into town we passed "Her Majesty's Penitentiary" where family members were lined up with food for those inside. My Freedom 35 plan involves a diving boat and a nice beachside hut in Antigua.

If you are from the eastern parts of Canada: Royalton White Sands Montego Bay Jamaica, just renovated, private beach, nice suites (family suites with spare room with bunk beds for kids), great rooms, water & splash park on site, classy, great restaurants, 5 start, $4600 for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 baby.
If you are from the west parts: Cabo is definately a good place to go, some very high class resorts and restaurants there. Friends of mine go every year, from the Maritimes.

We are looking for a warm, fun all inclusive place to go in the next few weeks. Suggestions are greatly appreciated. It will be me, the wife and two teenagers.

Huatulco is great. Very laid back, no Wal-Marts, Burger King, or Senor Frogs...and smoking hot. Being on the beach at high noon actually hurt, the sun was so strong.
Re: warm fun place to go
We love that place. Can't wait to get back there and direct flights from Edmonton.
