This incident just proves how dangerous the art of fighting a fire can be, the unpredictability of a fire can't be understated and what in this case "volunteer" fire-fighters put on the line. As stated by the other members on this forum, the joking, about firefighting is light-hearted.

This definitely hits home....brother's a volunteer, and father's a captain. My condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.

A joint funeral service will be held Thursday in Listowel to honour the two volunteer firefighters killed in a fire last week. The service for Raymond Walter of Listowel and Ken Rea of Atwood will be held at the Listowel Memorial Arena (380 Maitland Ave N) on Thursday at 2 p.m. Walter's visitation is set for Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home (385 Main St W) in Listowel. Visitation with Rea's family is on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Elma Memorial Community Centre (269 Main St) in Atwood.
