Memorial of A/Cst. Patrick Young

Postby Tango5 » Thu Nov 18, 2010 12:43 am

On the 6th of November at 21:44 hrs., Ridge Meadows Detachment members attended the scene of a single vehicle rollover motor vehicle accident. The passenger of the vehicle was
A/Cst. Patrick Young, who suffered minor injuries and was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital. Patrick however passed away due to complications of an infection from a cut to his hand which he suffered at the time of the accident. Patrick was 45 years old.

Patrick was trained as an Auxiliary at Burnaby Detachment and graduated on the 15th of March 2002. He was still serving with the Auxiliary Program until his death.

Our thoughts are with the Young family: mother Ruth, sisters Patricia and Margaret, brother Irvine, and sons Richard and Andrew.

Funeral Arrangements are as follows:

Final Viewing
Friday, November 19th, 2010
1900 hrs - 2100 hrs
Columbia Bowell Funeral Chapel
219 6th Street, New Westminster, BC

Celebration of Patrick Young's Life (reception to follow)
Saturday, November 20th, 2010
1400 hours
Queensborough Community Center
920 Ewen Avenue, New Westminster, BC

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following charity in Patrick’s name:

The Kidney Foundation of Canada
200 – 4940 Canada Way
Burnaby, BC V5G 4K6

The family has asked for Regular Members and Auxiliary Members to wear uniform. Review Order #1 with Stripped Sam Browne and Medals is authorized as per the UDM. Auxiliary members are to wear their best available uniform. There is no march planned.

I had the pleasure of knowing Patrick personally.

May he.....
Rest In Peace.
... For the Grammar Police, get off my back, I wasn't born here.

It’s been 7 year my friend, we all miss you and your sense of humour. RIP my brother.
