Crash claims one life
Written by Manny Paiva

One woman is dead and 7 other people were sent to hospital after a four vehicle crash just north of Mount Forest.

Grey County OPP say a van travelling northbound collided with two southbound vehicles on Highway 6 at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon (WED).

Police say a fourth vehicle then crashed into the pile.

The driver of the van -- 52 year old Karen Coffin of Powassan -- was killed.

5 people -- including Coffin's 16 year old son, a father and his 12 year old daugther from Quebec, a couple from Kitchener and a 5 year old girl -- were sent to Durham Memorial hospital with unknown injuries.

2 other people -- 39 year old Brad Campbell and 39 year old Karen Moore, both of Harriston -- were sent to a Hamilton hospital with unknown injuries.

Investigators state the roads were wet at the time of the crash.

An OPP Collision Reconstruction team is investigating the collision.

Very sad tragedy, my prayers go out the Brads family and friends and also the West Grey Police Service.

RIP

Agreed, too young, rest in peace...

I can't help but think that the Coffin surname sounds so familiar, Police related too??

I believe it was Thomas Coffin...OPP...passed away about 10 years ago.
Don't concern yourself with things you can't do anything about. Armchair generals don't win battles, but they do have nervous breakdowns.

He didn't pass away, he was murdered for doing his job.

My condolences to Campbell's friends and family.
