New OACP constable selection process

Postby 50below0 » Fri Jan 31, 2020 1:12 pm

Hello everyone,
Im at the stage of completing the medical requirements here in Ontario.
Hearing exam cost me 60$
And for the eye exam i have an offer for 200$. Is it too expensive?
How did you find an optometrist who has all the equipment to perform the tests?
Thanks

As far as i know, Costco can not check peripheral vision and for color blindness, but hey, every Costco is different.

Two Costco locations i checked with are doing this exam. (for 100$)
I have done my eye exam and had all documents signed. No issues.

The Costco at Warden and Ellesmere did the hearing test for free for Costco members last time I checked a year ago.

Just did my hearing test today and figured I would offer some insight. When I scheduled my test I advised them that it would be for OACP testing which they stated they could do, However upon arrival they advised that they can not do the CD portion as they don’t have the setup for it. That being said they tried there absolute best to figure out a work around so that I could do my test. I was given the info to listen up (now hearing care or something along those lines) who was able to perform the test. The audiologist did state that the hearing with the disc is something that only police services use and it’s quite hard to find a place that offers it. With that being said the first place called 5-6 local places trying to find someone that could do the entirety of the test before asking listen up. I would definitely take this into account when trying to find a place to do hearing.
