Postby chimesandlimes » Tue Oct 29, 2019 4:17 pm

Hello Everyone,

This forum is for Student Border Service Officer for upcoming year of summer 2020. We can discuss and track progress here.

Has anyone received any email from them after applying or invitation for any tests yet?

I received an email to take the test a few weeks ago! Took it and passed, have since been invited for an interview. My other two choices also invited me for an exam so I told them I already had it. Hoping for an interview invite for my number one choice, but i'm just happy to work somewhere this summer.

Nice, can I ask you when did you apply and what province if you don't mind. I applied back in September but have not received any invitation for test or something like that.

I applied when applications opened up. Applied to the 3 biggest locations, and I changed my choices around every couple weeks to other locations, eventually got selected in BC and Alberta.

Are Citizenship / PR mandatory? I don’t see that in the recruitment section.

I don’t believe so, however depending where you are from it may not be easy to get a security clearance. Also FYI applications have closed for this year.

In the process for full time BSOs my OTEE results were e-mailed to me as two separate e-mails. One of them only said whether I passed or failed and the other had an attachment which broke down my marks for each of the four sections.

Hey guys,

Congrats on embarking on your CBSA journey. Happy to answer any questions anyone may have as I've been in your shoes (or should I say boots...) before.

:drinking:
Former SBSO turned full-time BSO. I've been through it all and happy to share my experiences with others looking to get into CSBA as a temporary or full-time career.
