Play lots of sports, hit the gym 3-4 times a week. Mix cardio and weights throughout the week and mix routines up,

I am officially out of the running. Got a very disappointing email today. Good luck to the applicants who are still in in.

It sure, but 6 months is a manageable deferral. More time to focus and prep myself and clear up any loose ends.

You guys have been in since February and they've not even done BGI yet for you? Wow, they really drag this process out these days.

Thats the lowest level of deferral so don't sweat it. Sometimes it seems they do these types to just cull the numbers they are dealign with but assure those they would still like to look at come back again.

The only disadvantage is if the next group of applicants is on average more competitive than this group it might not lend to your favour. If that makes sense.

At least you can get on with your life again for a bit rather then be in the nebulous zone of wondering and waiting. From watching other threads in this message board WPS certainly does't have the most expedient process. Only reason no to reapply in the next class is if you have some major epiphany and decide its not for you.

It's kind of too bad WPS doest do ride along programs like some services to at least give a glimpse of things and let people have a good one on one with a street level officer. Right now they are very frustrated. No one likes to have to put domestic assaults and other similar level crimes on such a low priority it takes a few days to get to. Its only a matter of tie until they show up to one and find out they are 30 hours late... Not fault of their own. And now the Mayor is trying to force things into their contract without working with the Association, very undemocratic and most likely a breach of charter rights.
