Anyone who's had their security clearance interview.. how long did it take for results/ did you get any?
Hey Everyone! So I think this is the most asked question and we are all eagerly waiting to get our security clearance. Looking back in this forum people have gotten it in as little as 9 days and some people are still waiting since November. There is no way to determine how soon you will get your clearance and is completely random. I briefly asked the CBSA and they said once it is sent to Ottawa it has nothing to do with the CBSA and its out of their control until they receive a result. I also had a friend who took this position a few years ago and said that some people didn't get theirs until a week or so before training starts. Unfortunately its an unknown waiting time but it will be processed eventually! By all means if you receive your clearance please let us know! But when people keep asking how long it will take... we are all in the same boat waiting. :)

So long story short... between 9 days and upwards of 3 - 4 months!

I just got my clearance yesterday! I had my integrity interview on March 1st so it took about a week for me.
I was worried I was gonna be stuck waiting months like some of you guys. It sucks to be in the dark about these things. I was so anxious for a week I can’t even imagine for months!

Lucky you! The anxiety that came with waiting for so long was ridiculous. Congrats :)

Hi everyone! Wondering if anyone is around the same timeline as me? I'm applying in Calgary :) Also has anyone passed their security interview yet?

Applied: Nov 2018
OTEE Exam: Jan 2019, Passed
Interview Jan 2019, Passed
Security Interview, Feb 2019, Pending
CAT III, March 2019, Passed

I also got an email saying that I passed my interview (not the security interview) and that if I do pass my security interview and spots are available I may be offered a position.
Hi! I applied in Edmonton and I'm still waiting for my security interview and CAT III confirmation that I passed. For your CAT III, did they send you an email of confirmation?

I didn't get a confirmation that I passed, I just assumed I did after my appointment last week. The nurses made it pretty clear that I did and said that borders services would be given the front page confirming my assessment and everything by early this week (so I am assuming they received it, now I'm just waiting for the next set of emails)

It just stated that I have been granted clearance and they are still waiting for my Cat 3 results. Nothing special, just short and sweet

So has anyone actually been told yet what they are going to be paid? I'm pretty much at the last stage (pending final orientation meeting) and still haven't been given an answer other than the range on the website which is not very helpful because it says steps are not directly rated to years of education and are up to manager discretion.. 88) Also does anyone have any insight on what the six days on rotations are like?

That's comforting to hear :D Did they send the contract before or after the meeting? I heard rumors that in the past that my port waited until the first day of training/work to present the contract.

I haven’t had a meeting like that and I don’t have one scheduled so I’m not sure! I’m picking up my uniform and signing paperwork soon.

Ahh okay that's what I meant for what they called the meeting. Can you share what student step they are paying and did they send you the contract after doing the uniform forms? Also don't forget we get the $2 premiums for weekends and evenings ($4 for an evening on a weekend) ;)

Hi guys,

I'm just wondering if anyone from Edmonton received a job offer or security clearance results yet for Spring/Summer 2019?

Thanks in advance.

I'm from Calgary... so close. I had my security clearance interview in February (still haven't received clearance), and my CAT III 2 weeks ago and nothing since then. But I did receive an email 2 weeks ago saying that if I pass my clearance, medical, and "as vacancies arise" I may be offered employment. Just a waiting game. One of the Border Officer's who interviewed me said no news is good news. Hope that's true lol
