Police officers doing a BGI are bright enough to consider their source. If an ex and ex mother in law are saying terrible things about you, and the rest of your background is rock solid, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. No one piece of information learned will gong you from the process. Context is considered, and the totality of the circumstances is what matters.

Also, I failed a background once. I still have no idea what about. I didnt contact anyone demanding answers, I didnt do a freedom of information act request, I just decided to improve on all aspects before applying again. I just celebrated my 10 years with another service and I've been truly happy and thankful it all worked out the way it did.
I will NOT respond to PMs from those not belonging to the private side.

I was on the process with TPS I passed ECI and I advanced to BGI and Psychological Assessment.
I received the "Letter" June 21, 2019, saying
" your application will not be considered further in this process.

In accordance with our policy, your eligibility date to re-apply for the position of Police Constable is 2020, June

Question:
1- Is it true that I can not apply to any other service until 2020 because I was disqualified from TPS at this stage on the process?

I would be more concerned why it was halted at those two stages ?

Correct, you cannot apply anywhere else in Ontario after a failed Psych or BGI. I had that issue back in 2013 after an unsuccessful Psych interview.

So, I emailed TPS before reading your response and they said I can apply to any service just I can not apply to any job opportunity within TPS until June 2020.

So then you didn't fail the Psych. Just the BGI. Which is good i guess? I know a failed psych eliminates you from all Ontario services for a year. Unless the rules have changed. I haven't gone through the process is 4 years so i suppose take my advice with a grain of salt. I would call and ask other services you applied to, as you will need to disclose that information anyways.

UPDATE: I also confirmed this on Hamilton's page. Any service that uses the CSS will make you wait a year after a failed Psych. Here is the proof:

I know that's why I wanted to confirm because I saw the Hamilton Police website and also some people( previous applicants) told me the same thing. but I according to TPS Talent acquisition and one of the Cst from the Recruiting team ( which I am not going to say the name)
I can apply to any services I want.
I can even apply to Special Constable with TPS if I want to.

I just don't see how I fail my BGI. Oh well... I guess I can continue my journey and I carry on.
Maybe TPS will see me again in 2020.

I would personally call another service and ask. I have had misinformation given to me before.

I went through a nasty breakup a little while back. I was concerned that my ex and her mother would sewer my application. I made it through. Those sorts of references must be taken with a grain of salt (just IMO) because they really should.

Try having three nasty breakup's of long-term relationships, I'll find out in the next six months about that! :)
