If any experienced Police Constables are interested, CP Rail is hiring Constables for numerous locations across Canada. The link to the career section of CP Rail is posted. If only these positions were for new recruits...

These positions are meant to fill a shortfall with the current staffing numbers. What vacancies aren't filled by laterals will likely be posted for new recruits to be hired and trained.

Be patient .. I'm sure postings will be coming in the next few months.

Am I wrong in thinking that most experienced police constables would rather stick with their current agency rather than go work for CP or CN and deal with jumpers and trespassers all day? Even if you like trains, it seems like it would be kind of a crappy environment.

What's the deal with wanting 6 years of experience? Seems like a high number just to be eligible to apply....

Gotta love their jurisdiction, 3 yards wide by 50000 miles long :P

If they are just "plugging holes" so to speak, I imagine they don't have much opportunity to do any training whatsoever, and want a full fledged copper who already knows exactly what he is doing right out of the gate, until they can do their own full blown recruitment for whatever is left over.

If you don't have the 6 years of experience and you applied I don't think they would turn your down. I know of some members that didn't have 6 years of experience and they were accepted as an experienced member.

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone who is currently working for CPPS can send me a PM. Got a few quick questions regarding your service. I'm interviewing for one of the Experienced Officer positions in a week and a half.

Cheers
