Newbies requires some help please ! *Halton Region*
I apologize for any frustration I might cause anyone with my newbie questions but I am not very tech/internet savy so its very difficult for me to find what I am looking for in this plethora of information.
So anyways I am from Milton,ON ! I am interested in joining the Halton Region Police and wanted to get some information.
I am 6'2 weighing 160 lbs. I am physically fit and have been involved with endurance/strength conditioning for quite some time.
I have a degree in Electronics Engineering and I have the Red Cross First Aid/CPR(LevelC) certification. I am 24 yrs old BTW
How much of a chance do I have to get hired ?
Do I need to get the CFSC/CFRSC to give my application a better chance ?

Should I enroll myself in the CFSC/CFRSC course ? I'd like to get this out of the way before I send in my application !

Unless you want to take the CFSC course so you can get yourself gun, then no. That'd be stupid. They teach you how to handle a gun if you get hired. It would make absolutely no difference on your application whether you have that 12 hour course or not.

The best and mature way to find out answers is to call Halton yourself.
They will have the answers and will be able to give you their specific direction in these matters.
Before the internet, thats how it was done.

Thanks for the quick response ! I really appreciate it ! Will be submitting my application and will call them after work
Just another question, will my degree increase my chances of getting hired ?

Apply and find out. Continue to improve education through courses/certificates. Improve volunteer work, and gain experience through work.... some sort of job where you interact with people. Only reason I say that is because for an ECI interview I find a lot of my examples come through my work experience.

no offence but 6'2 and 160 pounds is not something to brag about.

I can't believe how many total fucking morons there are out there that want to be cops.
When things get bad, I take comfort in knowing they could always be worse.
When things get worse, I take comfort in knowing they can only get better.

Lol indeed. If OP doesn't know why meathead is saying this, then you can't become a cop.
