About the 75K, I am missing your point.
The point was that the article mentioned that the lowest paid TAPS Member earns 75K. Which, as suggested, would make TAPS the best paid Service.

You come up with a statement that some Members make less.
I have no idea what this has to do with GVTAPS being close to be the top paid Serice.

Listen, you fucking donkey- there are multiple other agencies across this great country where the lowest paid member makes more than $75 000 a year, which means that this service is NOT the 2nd best paid service.

I know you weren't born here and English isn't your first language, but come on man. This isn't rocket science.

- You have questioned that.
- PHP asked about Transit Police pay scale.
- I posted a link to a article that I had found on the Internet
- The article mentioned that GVTAPS lowest paid member makes 75$
- You posted that $75 grand a year would not put them # 1 or # 2 in Canada.
- I commented - Dear God the lowest paid member makes 75$ ( in reference to the article )
- I posted a link to GVTAPS official pay scale. ( where one can clearly see TAPS are not the highest paid, nor are they second )
- You commented that you make more.

At this time .... I guess it was CLEAR that TAPS are NOT at the top or near it - NO?

Then Remingtonsteel quoted the Dear God comment I made.
- Not really. If you look at Quebec or Maritime salaries, you'll find there are a lot of police officers out there who make significantly less than 75K a year.

I didn't see connection between the article's statement - Lowest paid member makes 75K and Remington's- Not really, in Quebec/Maritime police officers make significantly less. So, I quoted his post in reference to the article ONLY.

Oh by the way, i remember (Edited) saying something that the year they published that report, All the SCBCTAPS Staff was forced to work overtime during the olympics, so i guess the numbers are skewed.

Because all the Munis in BC (including Transit Police) get their training from the JI, transferring between services is fairly straightforward. There is a "gentlemen's agreement" in place however that no department will take a BC Muni with less than 5 years service. Really just prevents someone from getting hired by Department A and then jumping ship to Department B where they actually wanted to be hired as soon as they finish recruit. Not to suggest that it has never happened of course ...

Alas, would that it were. Members don't "transfer" between services. You resign from one, and are hired (or not) by another. No guarantees, and the wise member keeps his trap shut about going somewhere else until the new job is ironclad (which means, until you're wearing a new shoulder flash, and driving a car that says something else on the side).

And, vis a vis the "gentleman's agreement", I will use this term for the first time on this forum...bullshit. We've lost guys who barely had five months, let alone five years.
