Finally able to post here.

Leaving for Depot on Saturday Morning.

Hopefully I will have the priviledge of posting as an RCMP officer June of next year once I graduate.

Late late reply, but i was hired March 2017 after applying for 6 years across Ontario.

Don't quit if it's what you truly want to do. I wouldn't trade it for anything. The worst day here where you are held up and worked 16 hours straight is still better than the best day anywhere else.

Great advice, if this is your goal then don't give up! Oh, and having patience helps too ;)

Ahoj! In your experience, what do you think made you finally fit the bill for what they were looking for? I guess you are with Peel?

Lol ahoj,

I think it was just an accumulation of me having a balanced resume finally. I had the age/life experience, the education (and i was continuing my education at the time as well), shown i excel in customer service, shown I have been a leader, etc.

And most of all I think I just got lucky. I got a recruiter that really went to bat for me when the board interview came. Mine was incredibly short and to the point. It made me feel like I was definitely at a really good position based on my interviews and what my recruiter had told them about me. I am very grateful for him and still keep in contact with him now.

I am also a 20 year resident of peel now. So i know the area. That always helps.

Late post but I finished training and officially got hired as a Correctional Officer at the Toronto South Detention Centre. Still in the process with the CBSA so fingers crossed there!

Congrats. From the looks of your signature, you seem to be at the end with CBSA process. Back to back training.

PS we need to see more posts in this thread. Good to celebrate accomplishments. I remember when I got hired and could not wait to post here.

Starting my 15-week training with GO Transit as a Special Constable (Transit Safety Officer) very shortly.

Excited and nervous at the same time. 5 years of contract security life and applications to a few services, I am hired. Honoured and proud to join GO Transit.

I've heard good things about GO Transit and the guys who work it seem to love it. Good luck man

I lateralled to GO from a University service in 2013. Spent a month over 2 years at GO before I went PC. There are a lot of great people in the ranks there, many who I am very fortunate to still call them my friends. I have a lot of respect for those guys and girls, miss working with many of them and still think very highly of that service.

It's a good gig. Good luck.

PS - Watch out for those track switches if you're on the right of way, those bad boys can bite!

I was under the impression that East Coast was difficult to get assigned to; did you get lucky and it was a first choice? Or were you just randomly assigned there?
