Well that is more believable. I was just skeptical of Peel hiring 450 a year...

You have to remember the "number of people applied" doesn't really mean a thing. Just because people apply, doesn't mean they are qualified for the job, lots of people apply for positions for the hell of it in order to see if they can get hired.

If he gets a pardon for it, I don't think that he even has to disclose it on his application.

Kind of defeats the purpose of "full disclosure", no?

It does for sure.
What sportyspice reffers to is a fact that taking Mounties for example you don't have to disclose anything that happened when you were a minor. The exception to it would be serious crimes.

If the person is an adult ofcourse it wouldn't aplly.

Edit:
Damn, I have mixed up the threads. I thought you were guys talking about the guy who 'did it' to the pillow. Sorry for my 2 cents.
Edit #2, spelling.

On OPP forms it says the following:

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF A CRIMINAL OFFENCE?

That's not asking if you have a record. It's asking if you've ever been convicted. Not having a record is not the same as not having any convictions. The record disappears. The convictions in court never disappear.

i'm pretty sure getting a pardon would allow you to answer "no" to the question of whether you have ever been convicted of a crime. That's kind of the whole idea behind a pardon.

Not sure about that, meat, because sometimes the question is worded, "have you ever been convicted of an offense for which you haven't been pardoned". Even with a pardon I think they'd have to answer yes to the original question.

Exactly. Even if you were pardoned..... .

Have you ever been convicted of a crime? --- YES
Have you ever been convicted of a crime for which you have not received a pardon? --- NO

You'd be a fool not to disclose that you were convicted and then given a pardon. A pardon can be revoked, it's never actually completely gone.
Opinions posted are my own sole opinion not reflective of any views/thoughts of agency. Answers may or may not be truthful, As if you couldn't tell.

Yes, but I'm still stuck on this ideal police candidate missing his court date so he could hang out at the beach. That was gold.
